The Filmmakers at Rambellwood

>> Monday, May 2, 2011

Sam, as most of you know, is a film major at the University of North Texas, in Denton,
and when his semester's final project could be completed as a music video,
we jumped at the chance to create something amazing.

I will just say it involved a lot dust, and cobwebs, and careful thought,
a lot of labor behind the camera, and a lot of effort in front of it.

And, along with some red paint, and a red suitcase, it meant countless hours of editing, long, midnight hours, and a final "all-nighter" to complete the project according to deadline.

Sam's project was due this afternoon, which means it won't be too long before our weekend project is ready to share.  Stay tuned!

Poetry, missions...friends, coffee and music.

That's what was happening last Saturday night at the Hydrant Cafe'...
in the upstairs room.

Thanks for a great night, Denton!

Music

Music… it makes my soul leap up inside of me.  It makes my heart stir from sleep, makes my dreams waken inside me and press against the walls of my heart, pleading to be released.  They rise up in my throat, and pulse through my fingertips.  They spread out upon the air, words from my fingers and my mouth, the voice of my heart.  Music, when you are sharing it with others, when you are opening up your heart and your vision, is a blessing that seems beyond the feeble grasp of words.

We spent a special evening at the Come Together Coffeehouse and Trading Company in CantonThe room, smelling pleasantly of wooden floors and coffee, was full of people, and crowded with music, the rhythm of the chords pressing its way between the people, filling up their hearts, and ours.  So many hearts were stirred, and we came away full of the Joy of the Lord.

He does things, just when we need them, brings us wisdom and grace, and simple, poignant reminders, that we needn't be in control, that he has all of our lives safe within his mighty hands.

We want to say a big, wonderful "Thank you" to the folks at Come Together, to our special friends, the McClellans, who helped us make the connection, and to everyone who attended, to listen, and to encourage.  You guys are amazing!

And to all our new fans, WELCOME!  We are thrilled to share our music with you.  Check our upcoming concert dates, HERE... and visit our Flickr page to see more photos of the band.  Did you hear the new song, Interfere?  Check it out on the sidebar.  And hey!  We want to hear your thoughts!  Leave us a comment here, or visit our facebook page.

Joyfully,

The View from the Studio

>> Monday, February 21, 2011

We are still working hard on our album.  Every weekend Sam can spare to come home, he makes the 2 1/2 hour drive and spends countless hours in the studio, working to balance mixing, recording and producing with his homework.

And we are moving forward!  We are pushing toward this goal we are so passionate for.  We are recording, and planning, trying to promote and seek out shows for the spring and summer.

And.... guess what?  "Windowpane" is on itunes!  In case you missed the Facebook update... check out the song here, and please leave a comment to let other itunes users know what you think.

There is one more thing before I close.  As I mentioned previously, we are hoping to tour throughout this spring and summer.  Our goal is to find venues that fit our genre, to share our music with a new and larger group of people.  So.... do ya'll know of any venues?  Churches, coffee shops, even events, where you think our music would fit?  Let us know, so we can fill up our calendar.

In His strength,

Emma

A Little Explanation

>> Tuesday, January 18, 2011

So... as you all have heard, we have been endeavoring to get our official album released.  As we were unable to meet our deadline, we decided, instead, to release a single.

So... I got to work on it, designed the cover art, uploaded the final mix... and....

Discovered that it could take up to three weeks before it's available on itunes.  Bummer, right?

So... I guess we'll all just have to keep waiting.  But guess what?  As soon as I get the news, I will head to the computer and let you know.  Follow us on our new facebook page, or on twitter, or just here on the blog, to find out first thing.

And the album is still in the works.  We're just waiting for Sam, who is not only the band leader, but also our producer, to come home for the weekend and hit the studio.

So... until then!

Something Exciting

We have a small announcement to make!

We are releasing our official album on iTunes, January 15th.  I'll keep you updated as the date gets closer and closer and time in the studio becomes more intense.  Today we'll be tracking vocals, compiling, and mixing... I'm praying we make the deadline! --for your sake, but mostly mine because I don't think I can wait much longer. :)

See you at Art and Expresso tonight for Rambellwood carols and cappuccinos!

Christmas and Coffee

>> Tuesday, December 7, 2010

What could be better?  The chilly and busy December season is our favorite for Saturday nights at the warm, downtown coffee shop, with guitars, cello, and djembe... singing our Christmas favorites and sipping a Cafe` Au Lait.

We'll be there December 18th, from 7:00-9:00, jammin' those Christmas carols. (as amazing as coffee and music sounds, I'm wishing that was right now.)  Come visit Winnsboro.  Stroll the sidewalks, do some Christmas shopping and stop in to see us at our favorite coffee shop!
